La importancia de las buenas preguntas – Gandhi y la sal –

El 12 de marzo de 1930, Mahatma Gandhi comenzó su revolución ante el Imperio Británico con una marcha pacífica en contra de los altos impuestos a la sal.
“Con este simple acto, de tomar un puñado de sal en mi mano, estoy sacudiendo los mismos cimientos del imperio británico”. (Gandhi)


Fue la respuesta pacífica de Gandhi a los altísimos impuestos por la sal que imponían los británicos a su colonia; La India. 

Esta fue la primer lucha no violenta que libró el pueblo indio contra el imperio británico. 
Gandhi inició un movimiento civil de justicia pacífica, en el que rechazaban comprar productos británicos: la sal y el algodón, entre otros. 
Miles de indios se unieron a una marcha hacia el mar para recoger la sal ellos mismos.

Gandhi se preguntaba:
 

¿Si la providencia suministra la sal en tanta abundancia, que hasta los océanos están repletos de ella, por qué debe estar 
sujeta a impuestos? 

¿Cómo es posible que 100 mil soldados británicos, puedan controlar a mas de 350 millones de indios?
Simples y reflexivas preguntas, fueron suficientes para iniciar un proceso de justicia, paz y libertad en la India.

 

Nuestro gran desafío es formularnos buenas preguntas y luchar por la justicia con métodos pacíficos.
